Variable reassignment in makefiles

by

To change the value of a variable assigned in makefile, inside a rule, use this:

target ... : variable-assignment

on a separate line by itself.

Example:

CC=gcc
...
prog: CC=g++
prog: prog.cpp
	${CC} -o prog prog.cpp
